Cartridges come empty and can be used with either Standard inks or Sublimation Inks (dependant on printer). 

One time use chips - When ink levels show low cartridges can be removed and refilled. When cartridges are removed and then replaced the ink levels will no longer show, print level monitoring can be turning off in the printer menus or a chip resetter can be bought to show ink levels again.
