What do 3DQF have to Say?

So what's Re-Worked filament? During the production of filament, you end up with some funny-sized filament that can't be used for 3D Printing. We gather up this waste filament and chop it up with our pelletizer, turning it back into pellets we call post-industrial waste. It's all our waste, the same grade of resin just been extruded once and then recovered by us. 

Once we have enough of the chopped-up material we place it into a special machine that hardens the pellet, This is important so that it can handle the higher drying temperature we need to make it ready for extrusion. Once heated and cooled it's sucked over to our drying hoppers, these hoppers are fed with super dry air (-69°C Dew point) and heated to 90°C to drive out any moisture.

After drying, the material is sucked out of the drying hoppers and fed via a magnetic screen into our extruder. Our reworked filament skips the colouring process (already has colour) and goes into our extruder to be turned into filament all over again.

This process helps reduce our waste significantly and is common practice in most industries. What makes our Re-worked filament a little bit more special is that it’s a 100% recovered material. This is due to some special machinery that allows us to do this without having to add extra virgin material.

The Colour will shift slightly although it's generally a dark metallic Grey Brown
